I debated for a while between the Gemini and the Butterfly 2, and decided on the Gemini for a couple reasons: 1) I didn't like the infant insert for the Butterfly (and the extra step[s involved in getting baby into it) and 2) the Gemini can face outwards, which our first son loved so we wanted to have that option with our new baby.
I often keep this carrier in my car, as it's really nice for running errands, etc. It is very structured, so I don't wear it at home as much b/c it's less comfortable to bend over, etc (I have a mei tai that I use when I'm home). But, I love using the Gemini when I go to the store, or even things like going to the park with my 3yo. It's pretty comfortable to wear, although it can be tricky getting the hip strap on exactly right so that it bears most of the weight. I *really* like that the straps cross in the back, which feels a lot more comfortable to me than when you have to clip the straps together at your shoulder blades. My husband has started wearing our baby forward-facing, and both seem pretty comfortable that way.
Slight annoyances I have with this carrier: I do worry about how thick the body is, and whether it'll be too hot in the summer... we'll have to see. The straps drag on the ground a tiny bit when I'm putting it on, but it's not a very big deal. Also, the buckles are all two-handed buckles. This is good safety-wise, but can take a bit of getting used to. It can be a little uncomfortable, depending on how big baby is and how long your arms are, to reach all the way around your baby to unbuckle each side clip, and you can't hold baby and unbuckle the waist at the same time-- you need both hands. So, you need to be someplace where you can set your kid down in order to take the carrier all the way off.

I should start by saying I think this is a great baby carrier. It's very comfortable and I can wear it for long periods of time without a backache. It's super easy to put on but difficult to get off due to the safety buckles which require two hands, difficult to do when you are alone with an infant. I wish the back straps and waist strap were padded all the way, they cut into your back. If you are tall or have very large breasts, the padded part of the back straps will be toward the upper part of your shoulders leaving the unpadded part of the straps to dig into your back. If you are short or small to medium chested it will fit properly with the padded part of the straps right across the middle of your back. My main grievance and what warranted only 2 stars is specifically the METRO BLACK fabric. First, instructions say to wash it before using it and even though I washed it according to the instructions it faded badly and looked really worn. Contacted Beco and they said that's just the nature of the organic fabric. Secondly, the metro black fabric attracts lint like nothing I've ever seen in my life. Even fabrics that you wouldn't imagine giving off lint left lint on this thing. I had to keep a lint roller by the door and use it every time and it just looked dreadful. For $130 it should not look this horrible. So functionally I like the carrier, but I suggest do not buy the metro black. I will be buying a new one in the lightest color they have just in case it's the actual fabric itself and not the color that is causing the lint issue. Still it's the most comfortable carrier I've ever worn, so I'd definitely buy another one, just NOT METRO BLACK!

I was very excited about an ergonomically correct baby carrier that allowed a forward facing carry as my daughter loves to face out. However, this carrier just did not work for us. I am very shrot torsoed and the carrier is VERY long - it wouldn't fit right on my body.
Also, the waist strap is not padded all the way around so the buckle and straps get very uncomfotable.
I wore my 10 pound, 3 month old for a 2 mile walk and was in so much pain by the time we got home. I will say that my daughter appeared to like it as she fell asleep as soon as she was put in.
We are much happier with the Ergo.
